KELSEY TIMBERLAKE, Founder
It was never in Kelsey’s wildest dreams that she would become an Event Planner. However, while working at Oro Valley Country Club, and simultaneously studying at The University of Arizona, she received a phone call that suddenly changed her career path. Kelsey was recruited for a job as the Principal Event Planner for Spring Lake Country Club in West Michigan. Without hesitation, she took a leap of faith and moved to start her new career, determined to prove her mentor right. She spent two wonderful and extremely busy years there, learning the different aspects of the industry, all the while envisioning the company she would someday create.
Near the end of 2011, Kelsey moved back to Portland, Oregon, where she was born and raised, to start Vanity Affair Events, which launched in 2013. Kelsey brings passion, an eye for detail and design and her love of event coordinating to each event. Event planning is her greatest enthusiasm: the people, the details, the design and the incredible clients who ask her to be a part of their most cherished and intimate day. Kelsey works directly with every client, to manage even the smallest details. Her style is distinct, honest and playful, ensuring that through the process she has captured her clients thoughts, ideas and concepts.

DANIELLE DE MARCO SMITH, Production Director
Danielle is the organizational guru of Vanity Affair Events. Her expertise lies in food and beverage- working with clients to create specialized menus that fit their personality and culture. You will never see her turn down a dessert! She lives in the details- whether that be floral, stationery or speciality rentals, these are the aspects of event planning that excite her the most. Danielle always dreamed of becoming an event planner. It was her innate nature to host and plan that piqued her interest in this career for as long as she can remember.
Studying at Portland State University, she fell in love with the education field and started route. Successfully graduating with a degree in English, she received a position as an After School Coordinator- bridging her interests in both working with students, families and coordinating programs and events. It was in this job that Danielle received her first glimpse of a career in event planning. Danielle coordinated large scale family events, catering up to 500 families and students, strategically planning on a public school budget and donations. Later, she received a Masters in Education and became a High School Counselor at Fort Vancouver High School. One fateful Burn Cycle class Danielle and Kelsey would meet. A few coffee meetings later, Danielle was joining forces with Vanity Affair Events and her dream was realized.
When Danielle is not working from her home office or at an event, you’ll find her cooking for family and friends, creating craft cocktails with her husband and hosting guests from around the world in their quaint Airbnb!
ALEX TIMBERLAKE, Production Assistant
The same last name as the Founder of Vanity Affair Events, Alex is the older sister of Kelsey. If there is a ying and a yang among family members, this would describe these two siblings.
A graduate in 2008 from Chapman University in Orange California with a BA in Communication Studies, Alex’s career path has been most recently in the Restaurant Industry. The gravitational pull back to Oregon has been both prompted by her love of the NW and her sister wanting to combine their respective strengths in business.
Alex left a tenured position in Management and Market Development for a large food chain in California. The role as Market Development Manager required overseeing four restaurant locations and their operations. Her expertise in identifying weak areas in that atmosphere brings Vanity Affair an advantage in all things operational. A vision is only as good as its operators! Alex’s behind the scenes and systems oriented approach, will fortify both Kelsey and Danielle’s careful planning of all details most important for your event.
When Alex is not working, you can find her immersed in all things NFL (a fantasy football guru) and searching for her next great read.
MELISSA EPIFANO, Digital Content Manager
Melissa is the storyteller behind Vanity Affair Events. Whether it’s a blog post or a website, she’s brainstorming and creating it. She focuses on curating a flawless visual aesthetic, putting the components of a wedding into words, and dreaming up new creative endeavors. The combination of writing and weddings was not something she anticipated would happen, but after covering weddings for a magazine, she realized she didn’t want to be doing anything else.
She graduated with a BS in journalism from the University of Oregon and has worked for several magazines and companies in places from Eugene and Portland to London. She co-found her own print magazine in college, wrote about weddings for Eugene Magazine, interviewed fashion designers and DJs for SUITCASE magazine, and helped create content for a sustainable clothing company. When she started working with brides and grooms she was instantly drawn to the emotion, details, and planning that went into weddings.
Although you will not find Melissa on physical event days, she works behind the screen conceptualizing a variety of ways to capture your wedding whether it is a reiteration of the day on the Vanity Affair blog or customizing your wedding website.
When Melissa is not working you can find her surrounded by a pile of books, pinning on Pinterest, or scoping out the next best ice cream place.
