Carmel-by-the-Sea, California

It's hard to believe that tomorrow we welcome March and Spring will soon be here. Where has this year gone? Can we travel back in time?

As we slow down and reflect on this past month, we are reminded of our weekend in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, where two amazing human beings exchanged vows and shared in celebration surrounded by their closest family and friends from all over the world.

Danielle and I arrived on Thursday, assembling welcome bags, delivering to resorts for when guests checked in. It's these little details that really make your loved ones feel so special and as we hand delivered, we too felt in the joy they would soon be greeted by.

We witnessed a beautiful rehearsal at Carmel Mission on Friday afternoon and sent guests to rehearsal dinner while we ironed out any last details and laid out our plan for wedding day. We enjoyed a dinner for two at II Tegamino and threw ourselves into a bit of a food coma, but absolutely worth it and highly recommend if you ever find yourself in this beautiful place.

We woke Saturday morning to misty rain and by Noon the clouds parted ways and we were standing under blue skies. It's amazing how the world works and I find myself saying it more often than not. It had been pouring the entire week and here we stood with sunshine, soft waves in the ocean and dry sand under our feet. Those moments are powerful and they always make me smile.

This weekend was possible because of the amazing team that we collaborated with and for clients who allow us to create and execute a design we are confident with to reflect the environment they want to see, touch and feel. Because of all of them, we did just that.

On this last evening in February, we're missing those soft ocean waves and the sand beneath or feet, but thankful for where our work takes us and the relationships we nurture along the way.

With Love,

Kelsey

A 50th Birthday Celebration to Remember

The older I get, the more I realize the importance of momentous events in both my life and those around me. I receive so much gratification knowing that every few years there will be celebratory milestones to plan for. In an age where being busy is a familiar lifestyle, intimate events will always be a place for friends and family to gather.

After three years of summers filled with weddings of my closest loved ones, it has become evident that my inner circle is just about married, leaving me very few opportunities to be a wedding guest. Before I became too frantic at the thought of waiting 30 years for my own children's weddings, we received a call from a woman interested in planning an unbelievable, yet intimate, 50th birthday celebration for her son. She wanted a polished menu (even more dessert!), a formal dinner, but room for her grandchildren to run comfortably. Lastly, she wanted a photographer to capture the evening and take family portraits that had been long overdue.

Aha! I thought, there doesn't need to be a wedding to celebrate! Suddenly the door opened and I started to think of the next stage of milestones to come: baby showers, birthday celebrations, holiday events and anniversaries!  The list is endless. And I have to admit, planning this birthday celebration was such a fun and refreshing break from a summer filled with weddings.

Needless to say we were thrilled at the opportunity to plan John's 50th birthday celebration and bring on a team of excellent vendors to help! What a perfect evening to celebrate family, milestones and growing another year older together.

Lifestyle Engagement Shoot

"You are my home. Wherever you are, that's where I'm meant to be." -S.L. Naeole

Sometimes simplicity is best. Worldwide traveling Photographer Tyler Rye captured just that, when he made magic happen during this couple's beautiful lifestyle engagement shoot at their home in Portland, Oregon. We can't help but feel that couples are at their best when they are in the comfort of their own homes, and with a home this stunning, who wouldn't want to cozy up here? We are very much looking forward to their special day and the amazing team we have lined up to collaborate here in Portland, Oregon.

Love,

Danielle + Kelsey

Oregon Hops Farm Wedding

This weekend's wedding on an Oregon hops farm was truly an evening to remember. A garden party surrounded by sky high hop vines lends itself to a stunning backdrop filled with Oregon's bounty of lush greenery. Tones of berry, fuchsia and burgundy floral made for a rich atmosphere filled with romance.

Some of our favorite parts of the day included a cold brew coffee station and the couple's late night dance that was lit up by sparklers held in the hands of their guests.

Urban Wedding in Portland Oregon

With a forecast that read 50% chance of rain, Portland greeted us with a misty (and unpredictable) day, but that did not stop us from one unbelievable wedding with The Grays. As the overcast sky cast the perfect light for Photographer Josh Neff, the clouds vanished just in time for the happy couple to say their vows.

A backdrop giving praise to 'Bridge City,' a beautiful greenhouse in the heart of Northwest Portland and an industrial setting complete with dinner and dancing, this couple hosted friends and family from across the world for one party they did not want to end. And a night that many would never forget.

Congratulations to two amazing people who Danielle and I began this planning process with as clients and ended it as friends.

Love,

Kelsey

City Chic Wedding in Downtown Portland

What a beautiful day for a wedding. A perfect 75 degrees, overcast skies and possibly the most gorgeous couple I've ever met. Let's just say we got this couple down the aisle in style. To top it off, this adorable bride is Kelsey Timberlake's baby sister! As Kelsey took a spot at the altar as a bridesmaid, I took the reins as the lead on this wedding.

The couple opted for a rooftop ceremony with views of Downtown Portland. The party continued with a patio cocktail hour, passed hors d'oeuvres and guests then made their way inside for an intimate candlelit dinner.

White and blush florals, including a stunning ceremony altar adorned with hydrangeas, roses and a rose petal aisle were created by Kim Dodrill with Swoon Floral Design. Check back soon for more photos of the ceremony florals!

My absolute favorite part of this special day was the kind words of appreciation and love the couple shared during their thank you to their guests. Sam shared tearful words of gratitude to her co-worker who shaped her into the dedicated 1st grade teacher that she is today. DJ followed suit, thanking his many football coaches along the way to the NFL, his parents and especially his wife who has been his number one fan.

The couple's love and excitement was palpable for not only their close knit bridal party, but for all guests in attendance.

What an honor it was to plan this wedding day for Sam and DJ. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness in their new marriage and cheers to a new chapter!

Love,

Danielle
